For a stressed out couple trying to organise their wedding, managing to be so lucky to have the support of Marilyn made a world of difference. She was able to guide us through the whole process, and she provided us with the comfort and clarity of how everything would be for the ceremony. Marilyn took great care and attention to detail to make A WONDERFUL LOVE STORY ABOUT US, AND IT MADE SURE THAT OUR CEREMONY WAS FILLED WITH HISTORY, LOVE AND LAUGHTER. Marilyn was able to give us so much more than just a great speech - the "stage directions" of where to be, and going through a private rehearsal with her was excellent. She was able to suggest a toasting during the ceremony of our favourite drink we had on our first date, and to have a Wooden Wedding Box during our ceremony where love letters we wrote to each other (for our first anniversary) were placed into. These special symbols worked into our history of how we met, and will now be something we carry forward into our marriage forever. We wanted to have a celebrant who would be open to a medieval wedding and we found Marilyn who specialises in medieval weddings which was perfect. The service we received was above and beyond our expectations as she guided us through the paperwork, ceremony, music and rehearsals! Marilyn had a wealth of knowledge to help us on the day and so many great ideas. On the day of our wedding Marilyn dressed to the occasion (in medieval attire) and presented her speeches and words in medieval language….we have nothing but great words for her. Wow, I can believe it has been two weeks since our wedding and I am writing this letter, so you may know Chris and I think you are the best wedding celebrant in the world! – I think the wedding ceremony, is one of the most important parts of a wedding, where the love, for a bride and groom is declared between themselves, family and friends. I wanted a ceremony, something that was personalised and a ceremony that would captivate our family and friends, not have “just another boring ceremony”. I found the best wedding celebrant in the world – Marilyn – on the internet, and after viewing her website, made phone contact, found her to be helpful, informative and friendly! The next step was meeting up in person and the best I can describe, meeting Marilyn is like meeting a friend, she has genuine warmth and instantly makes you feel at ease – after a cup of coffee, laughter – we got down to the business side of things, where she explains clearly, the different types of ceremonies, giving you as much input as you wish to make, or if you are a busy person – how little. Our ceremony was personally tailored for us, on what we wanted ( Marilyn is a listener and gives great advice and has available amazing resources) – the planning of the ceremony consisted with sending to and fro emails with drafts, (since I wanted a lottt of input, there were lots of emails – no added expense) until we had it just perfect. Marilyn makes you feel special, as if your wedding is the only wedding she is planning – in fact her attention to detail, would be, as if it was her own wedding. The day itself was beautiful and Marilyn looked beautiful (she consults in colours and what we would like her to wear – she has an extensive wardrobe) as you can imagine, a celebrant is featured in wedding photos! Our true love story and weaving of other magical ceremonies within, had our guests in tears and truly mesmerized from beginning to end. Marilyn herself delivered the ceremony with meaning – each word she spoke was hung on to by the guests…as she put in 110% effort into creating a feeling of love and wonderment. Now I must include this funny bit, though we all wish our wedding ceremony to go as planned..at times, it doesn't..and the best man and ring bearer forgot the rings – in the car…nothing fazed Marilyn, who asked for the rings to be found ( amidst flurry of car key looking) then proceeded with another part of our ceremony, until the rings were found (some 10 minutes later!).. looking back, the situation was handled with calm, humour and I am sure added to the enjoyment for our guests. Hence if there is a bride to be reading this now, stop thinking, pick up the telephone, it is the best decision you will ever make! And your wedding will be – as you wish it to be…….and hassle free. So, I end this testimonial, with a heart felt thank you to Marilyn, from Chris and myself, for we see you now, not just as a “celebrant” but a friend who made our day very special, from beginning to the end. Both of us were rather nervous about getting married in the first place and thus found the prospect of meeting with the wedding celebrant rather daunting. However, when we first met Marilyn, all of our fears were blown away. She had a lovely presence, was totally authentic and let us be who we wanted to be. Marilyn stood out when we were looking for a celebrant on the internet and we instantly knew she was the one that was going to marry us. "Sarah and I organized our wedding in just over a month, as I was coming from abroad we had to make a lot of decisions in a little time. While we were surfing the net we bumped into the Marry Me Marilyn website. Hi Marilyn, We had a fantastic honeymoon and we were so delightfully thrilled with all aspects of our wedding and have since had so many compliments about our Ceremony. My husband James and I came across Marilyn after surfing the web for hours and hours for the perfect celebrant who would be able to create a ceremony that completely reflected who we are as a couple. We were after a creative ceremony, with elements a little unusual and unique. We loved the idea of the “love story” as that is something all couples hold special and what a better day to celebrate that story than on your wedding day! After scrolling down so many testimonials and reading more about Marilyn, we decided to meet with the lady herself. Marilyn showed us numerous of suggestions to help us achieve our dream ceremony and her personality was so friendly and it just seemed so fitting to our wedding day, so we quickly booked! Although it was still well over a year until our wedding date, Marilyn was more than happy to start working on our ceremony with us as one of the very first things we did. I’m sure she had so many other ceremony’s to map out before ours, but she never let on that it was too early or too much trouble. In fact it worked out so well as we had plenty of time to perfect our ceremony exactly the way we wanted it well in advance and well before the wedding plans ramped up and we wouldn’t have had enough time to dedicate the thought we gave it. With Marilyn’s help we had it sorted months and months before our big day! On our wedding Day Marilyn arrived early as promised and went to visit James and the boys to make sure they were all up to scratch on ceremony movements and timings. Her delivery of the ceremony was fantastic, she told out love story with such enthusiasm! Our guests loved her special touches, such as the wooden box idea. We had our best man construct a wooden box, during the ceremony we had a nice bottle of scotch, and our love letters to each other sealed shut. It was the touch that really set our ceremony apart from lots of others we have attended. Marilyn is simply fantastic and made it seem as our big day was just as special to her as it was to us! EVERYONE came up to us and COMPLIMENTED US ON OUR WEDDING CEREMONY and they still do to this day. Out of every single person we met throughout the phase of our wedding organisations, MARILYN was by far the KINDEST and MOST UNDERSTANDING PERSON. We really felt like she was one of our family with her excitement and enthusiasm towards our wedding. Honestly the wedding would not have been what it was if it wasn't for Marilyn. Marilyn made our WEDDING CEREMONY ROMANTIC, FUNNY, LIGHT-HEARTED, CREATIVE AND UNIQUE. Marilyn explained the whole process to us, and organised all the paperwork. She even suggested we put in our own funny asking’s, which were a huge hit on the day. She made sure above everything else that the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. WE ARE BEYOND GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING SHE DID FOR US LEADING UP TO, AND ON THE DAY, AND WILL BE RECOMMENDING HER TO EVERYONE! In the beginning when we first started planning our wedding, we had no idea how to find a celebrant. I ended up googling “Best Celebrant on the Gold Coast” and Marilyn’s name popped up. We knew was we wanted to keep it fun, casual and carefree. From our email correspondence, I had a feeling Marilyn was going to be the perfect choice for us, and after meeting in person, I was 100% sure. Marilyn explained the whole process to us, and organised all the paperwork. She took us thru step-by-step of what to expect on the day and gave us tips and tricks on ways to keep it fun and stress-free. SHE EVEN SUGGESTED WE PUT IN OUR OWN FUNNY I DO’S, WHICH WERE A HUGE HIT ON THE DAY. She was very accommodating to the fact we could only ever meet her at night during the week and even let us do a practice ceremony with her one night just before the wedding. Marilyn thought of things I had not even considered, including how to have our hands when we put on our rings so the photographer got the best possible shot, and even asked us what colour we wanted her to wear on the day so she did not clash with the colour theme. My husband and I recently were married by Marilyn in Surfers Paradise on the beach. Marilyn played a huge role in making our day one special one to remember. It was perfect in many ways. We met Marilyn in 2012 when she kindly invited us to her home to discuss putting together a wedding ceremony for us. We felt very at home and Marilyn made discussing our needs very easy. My husband is from the Caribbean and Marilyn was very knowledgeable with the steps that needed to be taken for us to get married here in Australia. She assisted us many times during our visa process which was definitely going above and beyond that of a marriage celebrant. Marilyn spent many hours on our wedding ceremony. I think there was up to 6 drafts. She included our close family members in our ceremony which was very important to us. As my husband was from another country she researched his home town and also included it in our ceremony. The whole ceremony was all about us and who we are and what we believe in. It was so beautiful and bought tears to many of our guest’s eyes. We are still receiving comments from our guests as to how beautiful our ceremony was. Hi Marilyn, Well the dust has finally started to settle and I am only now starting to come back to Earth and reflect on our special day. Wow!!!! What a blur!!!! But such a happy blur! I have to say that the ceremony felt as through only Matt and I existed on the side of that beautiful mountain. Marilyn is the best marriage celebrant in the world everything was totally perfect for our wedding ceremony, she did an excellent job in every detail from start to finish. THE CEREMONY was the PERFECT HANDFASTING that we didn't even know we wanted for our day! It was simple, elegant and the first time we read it together we could not believe how PERFECT she got it.
